John. I wanted to update you on the beginning of our 2008-09 school year at Goodpasture Christian School:
*We have completed nearly all of our summer renovations which totaled $250,000 (detailed in the July 16th letter that I sent you).
*Our enrollment stands at 957 as of 8-15-08. (This is a net increase of 25 students from last year. I attribute much of this to the fantastic reputation that Goodpasture Christian School has in the greater Nashville community; the improvement of the GCS academic program; the raising of the bar in regards to our teachers' commitment to professional growth; the tireless efforts of our GCS faculties, our administation and staff; and our Board of Trustees wisdom to invest in our facilities & programs.)
*Our families, teachers, staff and administrators are exhibiting a contagious enthusiasm that has made our start to the 2008-09 school year an exciting one.
*Our annual audit states that Goodpasture Christian School continues to be in a strong financial position and (in large measure thanks to Gil Drakes efforts) GCS again finished this past school year in the black.
I want to personally invite our Alumni, former parents, former faculty and Goodpasture Christian School patrons to come and see Goodpasture Christian School. It is a "new day" at GCS and as our legendary teacher Conn Hamlett has stated "the renaissance of Goodpasture Christian School continues".
We give God the credit and the praise for all these ways He is blessing and will bless Goodpasture Christian School. GCS can reach its fullest potential only if all members of the Goodpasture Christian Family come together and combine our efforts to support our present and future students.
John. Thanks again for being willing to post this and I look forward to seeing you at Homecoming, September 19th, 2008 (if not sooner). I personally want you to be proud of your Alma Mater and celebrate with us the present and future Goodpasture Christian School.
